Every JET SET collection is a collection of iconic pieces. And every icon has its own story to tell. An unwritten rule at JET SET: No collection is complete without a windbreaker and parachute pants. The special challenge here: Staying JET SET without becoming predictable. And if you've mastered this challenge for over 40 years, you've created a genuine classic. We remain dedicated to this task for our spring & summer 2020 collection. In true JET SET style, we've left no stone unturned.

RIPSTOP: THE MATERIAL ICONS ARE MADE OF.

Ripstop fabrics were originally developed for the military and are used to make parachutes. What makes them special: Polyester fibers woven into the material's rhomboid structure give it incredible tear resistance. JET SET has long celebrated this material and first incorporated it into our collection in the 1980s.

We have continued to evolve this fabric, for example by integrating metal threads. The result is unusual aesthetics with a high-tech look, especially in the drape. We have also reworked the fit and cut, giving them a contemporary interpretation. Like the material, the collection as well has become much more physical – away from the batwing sleeves and square torsos of the 1980s, toward modern, body-hugging cuts.

Many more details round out its appearance, emphasizing the military origin of these wearable fashion statements. Pockets, zippers, flaps, and ribbons – every detail has its function. Cords and drawstrings let you customize the shape of each piece and tailor it to your body and your personality. So it should come as no surprise that both the windbreaker and the parachute pants are perfect unisex apparel. You could even call it a fashion statement for gender equality.
